Dr. Carl Johan Calleman - The scientific community recognite the significance of the Mayan Calendar

Dear Friends,

For a long time the professional scientific community has resisted the thought
that the different time periods of the Mayan calendar are driving cosmic and human evolution through their influence on consciousness. While of course a large number of professional Mayanists have worked with elucidating the structure of the calendar system of the ancient Maya there has always been a resistance to acknowledging that there would be a reality behind these energies. Hence, even though it may not have been said so directly these cosmic energies have often been regarded as some kind of superstitions.

A beginning of a shift in attitude now however seems to be on its way. At an international conference in Systems Theory at the University of Liege in Belgium Professor Tadeja Jere Lazanski won the award for best scientific paper in the CASYS'09 (Computing Anticipatory Systems) conference:

The paper outlines the nine levels of evolution that are developed according to the Mayan calendar system and places them in the context of Systems Theory. In short Dr Jere Lazanski is driving the thesis that what the ancient Maya saw as a plan driven by divine energies is what now is generally referred to as the big picture.

This initial breakthrough into mainstream science of the true Mayan calendar system of Nine Underworlds and Thirteen Heavens is very significant and it opens for the first time a road to discussing not only the Mayan calendar, but also the many evolutionary progressions that it describes in certain scholarly settings.

It is also notew orthy that, in contrast, the urban legend of a "galactic alignment"
as the basis for the Mayan Long Count for good reasons has consistently been
rejected by professional scientists (see for instance Vincent Malmström,

That the breakthrough into established science of the True Mayan calendar system first happened in Systems Theory is understandable. It is only from the perspective of the whole system that the Mayan calendar can be seen to make sense and any specialized science such as professional Mayanism, history, biology or physics would have to undergo so significant changes in its methodology and general approaches in order to recognize the validity of the Mayan calendar system that this would only happen against a much greater resistance.

I congratulate Professor Jere Lazanski for her contribution to science and feel this recognition indicates the beginning of an increased openness in the scientific community to the deeper meaning of the Mayan calendar.

G-20 Summit Oneness Prayer-Meditation September 23rd:

1.G-20 Oneness Prayer-Meditation September 10 - 25th.The G-20 Summit for this year is in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on September 24th and 25th. The G-20, or the Group of 20, was established in 1999 to bring together countries to discuss key issues in the global economy. It frequently draws large protests in host cities.

Common Passion members are invited to assist the local spiritual community in Pittsburgh to help ease the tension and further the movement toward oneness. At a time when local and global economies are prominent issues, we have an unparalleled opportunity to raise the consciousness around this summit and help make it a force for enlightenment and social harmony around the world.

The Pittsburgh community has invited us, as a global force, to help empower the intention for humanity to experience its interconnection and unity, and to affirm that "We Are All ONE - one planet, one body of humanity, one Spirit." The initiation of this intention is tonight, September 10th and continues daily until September 25th.

BACKGROUND

You may recall a Common Passion Global Meditation from a couple years ago called "I Am the River of Oneness." It was one of the most experiential and popular global meditations we have over shared in. This meditation was inspired by the unique spiritual characteristics of Pittsburgh. It is a city of spiritual transformation. Their "3 Rivers" sacred geography has been affirmed by leaders from other cultures including the Dalai Lama. Mayan Grand Elder Don Alejandro (Mayan Spiritual Leader) visited Pittsburgh to confirm the city's 3 Rivers' link to their ancient Mayan prophecies and its destiny as a city of spiritual transformation. Pittsburgh will initiate stepping into that destiny on September 10, 2009, as it inaugurates the Gathering of ONE.

2.International Day of Peace, September 21st.

Every Peace Day event provides an opportunity to inspire individuals and empower communities to celebrate victories for peace that have been won throughout the year, and to rededicate our commitment to work for a more peaceful, just and sustainable world all year long.

A Peace Day event can be as simple as lighting a candle or meditate on Peace on September 21. It can be as complex as organizing a Peace Concert for thousands of people. In between, there is a whole scale of events on different levels that might fit your family, group, class, or community.

6) Message from the Mayan Calendar Portal - The Mayan Calendar Portal, MCP version 2.0, will be launched to the international Mayan Calendar community on 09.09.09, 1 Imix in the Tzolk'in, an auspicious day in both the Mayan and the Gregorian calendars. We have selected this date after consulting with Dr. Calleman and several other persons, in order to select the most appropriate day for this special event.

The MCP/LUCITÀ team would like to thank everyone in the Mayan Majix community who submitted their Mayan Calendar story, artwork and music. Submissions will continue to be accepted now through the launch and beyond of course, but your first round of contributions will have helped make the launch all that more exciting.

The new MCP site will feature much more interactivity and content than the previous site, including media galleries, a blog, and our Twitter account, which you can actually already start following: www.twitter.com/mayan_portal.

7) Call For Assistance - We are starting to plan for the second Harmonic Convergence, May 27-28 until July 17-18 next year. I feel there will be a need for a special web site for this so we are putting out a call for assistance for web designers and managers.
